The right combination for energy saving in this case was a combination of radiant ceiling panels with integrated lights and a counter-flow heat exchanger with EC motor technology. Heating now takes place via the radiant ceiling panels; the heat recovery system generates the fresh air for sports lessons or other events only when needed, once it has been triggered by a presence detector.
